CGFM Preparation Methods – Study Groups
The key to successfully passing the CGFM Examinations is to PREPARE for the CGFM Examinations. In December, I shared with you information on using Self-Study to prepare for the exams; in this newsletter the final tip of this three part series will be shared – Study Groups. Study Groups – Study groups are a great way to reinforce the material you are studying on your own. If you are having trouble with a concept, the chances are great that one of more of your fellow groups members have mastered the concept and can share ideas and help you learn it in a way you never considered. Study groups also provide an accountability measure that can keep you active in your certification pursuit when your motivation is slipping. Study groups can be started informally amongst candidates; however AGA chapters often facilitate formal study groups. Keep an eye on your email for upcoming local formal study group opportunities in 2017.
Don't Forget Your CPE!
Fellow CGFMs, if your life is anything like mine, you barely have time to get your day to day duties done, nonetheless time to think about CPEs. However, we must not forget CPEs are a vital requirement in order to maintain our certifications! We all have to complete at a minimum 80 CPE hours every two years, maintain documentation of those CPE hours completed, and if requested by AGA, provide detailed information on CPE hours completed.
AGA offers lots of opportunities to gain CPE in order to maintain your certification. Please visithttp://www.agacgfm.org/Events-CPE/Overview.aspx for more detail concerning CPE and possible free CPE for AGA members. “GIT ‘ER DONE!!!”
